Week 5: Rollyo

I created a very basic Rollyo search called "One Stop Pug Shop" lots of favourite and most used websites. Not very interesting to everyone but interesting to me. Rollyo is easy to use.

Week 5: Library Thing

How easy is Library Thing?!?!? I've heard people talking about Library Thing before and have thought to myself I must check that out but never got round to it. Well i'm glad I did and now I'll have to keep using it. Have a look at a few of my favourite Pug references here.

Week 5: Play Week - Image Generators

Well so far Image Generators is my favourite week. These are lots of fun. I really enjoyed using The Generator Blog and I've subscribed to a really fun feed called blogthings. Some of the web links from the Generator blog are no longer valid or are blocked by our work web marshall so this is a bit disappointing. Ever wanted to know what your Mafia name was? As you can see I've dug deep into my owner's cultural roots to work out their true Mafia name "Alfredo Soprano" I don't think Nonna would be too pleased with this result! I also made some pug bling and a pug number plate. I tried using Letter James but I don't like it - am I supposed to have an account or something with them? Anyway I played around with it for a bit but just found myself wasting too much time. then I moved on to FD Toys - again this is fun. I made a Flickr badge last week and I successfully made a Pug Warholizer but because I used an image from Google it wouldn't work properly. I think with this learning program there is the assumption that everyone has a computer/internet and everyone has a digital camera??? Sorry but I don't - which makes some of the exercises a little bit difficult. Maybe i'll have to write a letter to Santa.

Week 4: RSS & Newsfeeders

Well everyone I'm back. I've missed out on a few weeks worth of 2.0 cause I've been in Griffith NSW (yes we all know its history and rep.) So it's back to the grind and I'm onto week 4. I set myself up a bloglines account (yet another account) and started using some of the newsfeeds and suggsted tools. Bloglines is easy enough to use and I kind of got right into the whole subscribing thing. I've subscribed to quite a few blogs, some entertaining (you've gotta luv Perez Hilton - nobody does hollywood gossip better!), some personal, some library. Now it's a matter of keeping up with all the info. I think I found http://www.technorati.com/ and http://www.topix.net/ the easiest to use. Otherwise I just logged onto my fav. websites and cut and paste the URL. EBSCOhost is easy enough to use and I've subscribe to 2 blogs - both non-library.

You can view my feeds at
http://www.bloglines.com/public/puggirl or check them out to the right of the page. Happy reading!

Week 3: Photos & Images - flickr badge

WOW I did a flickr badge! I'm sooooooo excited. Thanks Vi, your a champ! Now that I have discovered how to make badges you'll many more on my blog. The only thing is, if Vi wasn't here to show me how the heck would I know where to post my badge? I'm feeling very techno stupid, maybe self learning is not for me.

now it's on to the other stuff. watch me go!
